Meet the Team

Qolware is a start-up incubated at the Technical University of Munich and composed of an international team of researchers and professionals passionate about healthcare, wearables and the Internet of Things, with +8 years of experience in algorithm development, web-enabled technologies, and human-centered interaction.

Cristina’s analytical skills and her passion for innovation play a key role in bringing Qolware projects to life. Cristina received her Masters in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Vigo (Spain) and her Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering from TU München. She has designed and coordinated clinical trials in healthcare knowledge and innovation communities at an European level as part of a vast network of entrepreneurs, researchers and healthcare professionals. Cristina has authored several conference and journal papers in the fields of gait & balance analysis and fall detection. With over six years of experience in human movement analysis using wearable technologies, at Qolware she is responsible for algorithm development.

Therese’s understanding of user abilities and needs shapes how Qolware solutions attend to user’s interests. Therese holds a Master Degree in Psychology, Cognitive Ergonomics, and Linguistic Engineering as well as a PhD in Experimental Psychology, Neuropsychology and Human Machine Interaction completed at Montpellier University (France) and in collaboration with the Siemens Research and Technology Center (Germany). With six years of experience in establishing and testing human-centered interaction concepts and a special focus on medical devices, Therese guarantees that Qolware solutions always place user satisfaction and Quality of Life at the center of everything we do.

Aleksandra’s passion for strategic marketing and business innovation helps Qolware to grow into a highly competitive company in the smart connected devices market. Aleksandra earned a double-degree in German from the University Gdansk (Poland) and the University Leipzig (Germany), and a degree in Communications and Media from the University Leipzig. Currently, she is completing her degree in Business Administration at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University München, with a specialization in Marketing, Management and Innovation. Having worked for Fraunhofer Center for International Management and Knowledge Economy, Aleksandra has already gained experience in the field of knowledge and technology transfer. She has also gained experience in strategic marketing through internships in diverse industrial technology companies.

Ying combines her experience in finance and health tech to boost Qolware’s profitability and sustainability in the healthcare market. Ying grew up in a family of physicians and medical related topics have accompanied her whole life, what fostered her passion in the health sector. She holds degrees from two of Germany’s best universities, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitiy of Munich and a Master of Science in Management and Technology from the Technical University of Munich. In addition to her academic achievements and her specialization in Entrepreneurial Finance and IT, she has gained vast professional experience working in several consultancy and health tech focused Venture Capital firms. Ying’s deep understanding of finance management guarantees and protects Qolware’s economic value.

Lucas‘ entrepreneurial spirit, his broad experience in innovation projects and his passion for health tech will help Qolware to develop unique solutions for its users. He holds a Master of Science degree in Mechatronics and Information Technology at the Technical University of Munich. Alongside his studies Lucas worked on exciting projects like electric racecars, smart automation systems and the Hyperloop concept, which won the SpaceX Hyperloop competition. In 2015 he gained interest in healthcare technologies after his grandmother suffered a severe fall. He started to work on falling recognition wearables, resulting in his master thesis on smart wearables for seniors within an agile product development environment.

Stefan’s extensive experience in software development and IT project management led Qolware to a modern and highly reliable tech stack. During his studies at the Technical University of Munich he focused on computer engineering and attended several Artifical Intelligence projects at the Technical University of Delft. Stefan has been the lead software engineer to develop a global project management platform for a major DAX concern. His experience gathered in IT security consulting assures that Qolwares products fulfill a high level of user privacy and security.
